Haiti - Health : Installations of 3 Directors and 1 Coordinator at MSPP
Drs Eunise Dérivoit, Darline Carré, Jeannot François and Willy Maurose ere respectively elevated to the position of Director of Training and of Development of Health Science (DFPSS), Director of Organization of Health Services (DOSS), Director of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (DPEV) and Coordinator of the National Programme against Tuberculosis (PNLT). From the outset the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Florence D. Guillaume, who chaired the ceremony, thanked the former Directors for the outstanding work they have done within these directions, despite some shortcomings observed in the performance of their duties. As she promised them to use their skills to another level in the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP).

"The MSPP is not a house of entertainment, but a service institution for the benefit of the Haitian people. I will not say you welcome, because the task will not be easy. You will not have to operate in isolation, but with a team spirit very open to all to get things go well and quickly under the new policy and the dynamics of change initiated within the Ministry," declared the Minister Guillaume.

The Minister recalled their obligations to the new Directors: "The DOSS mission is to organize health services, go to the provinces to meet people, visit health facilities, make proposals in this regard, support managers to see how you can help to improve and better organize health services provided to the population."

For the Directorate of Training and Development of Health Science, as its name suggests its mission is to go around the country to have control over everything that happens in this complex and vital field. Emphasizing on the mission of these executives, the Minister declared "Your direction must also seek to cover 40% of the citizens of the territory that does not have access to health care through training of health workers according to a standard curriculum. It is the same for the agents and health technicians for an approach of integrated care [...]

Regarding the direction of Expanded Programme of Immunization, it must intensify the campaign of routine for a better national coverage while seeking to maintain the progress and achievements made in the field. We must change, things have to improve and I keep talking results, results, results, because I firmly believe [...]

he must go into the field to investigate the causes of TB transmission, increased screening throughout the country, take care of all cases of TB including resistant cases, have a good reading of the situation in order to better advance and significantly reduce the rate of this disease in the country."

For his part, the Director General of the Ministry, Dr. Marie Guirlaine Raymond declared "

"The task entrusted to the promoted is complex with culture of results, advocated the Ministry, the MSPP is also a complex institution. This complexity calls us to be very serious in our work. We are called to reflect on the slightest deviation. Decisions must be taken and analyzed with accuracy and wisdom, not to make mistakes that could be costly to the ministry and the entire population. We must work as a team efficient, a winning team by any means, because the population awaits us all. It needs change in the country [...] We need a good management of human resources, this is why we consider the human resources department, as the nervous system of MSPP. We intend to work in order to make available the whole range of services without discontinuity."
