Haiti - Social : Demonstration in Cap Haitien, Senator Moïse wants the departure of President Martelly 28/09/2012 13:04:31 Speaking Thursday morning Guyler C. Delva, the Secretary of State for Communication, has asked the people to protest, peacefully, warning those who want to "cause trouble." The demonstration took place "without any major incidents," under the protection of the national police. Police arrested at least four people accused of being responsible for incidents during the event [throwing stones and bottles]... The Senator Moïse Jean-Charles and Elusca Charles (representing of the OPL in Cap-Haitien and declared enemy of Moïse for years] reconciled by a handshake [despite their different deep] to the favor of the anti-Martelly movement, under the acclamations of demonstrators, they were with the former deputy Hugues Célestin at the head of the demonstration. The Senator Moïse, that pushes the protesters towards the radicalization, has for the first time, demanded the resignation of President Michel Martelly and declared "We are in the streets for the high cost of living... Now we want the departure of President." At the end of the demonstration, the Senator Moïse announced that other events will be held in the country whose Les Cayes St. Marc and Gonaives. He also announced a demonstration Sunday in Port-au-Prince, on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the bloody coup of 30 September 1991... And as if that was not enough, he announced on Monday 1st October, in Cap-Haitien, a general strike in order to force the Head of State to resign. A strike that will undoubtedly affect the back to school planned the same day... Dr. Maryse Narcisse, spokesman of Fanmi Lavalas, announced Thursday that the party of JB Aristide, gave its support to all "peaceful movement, whose goal is to change the living conditions of the population."
