Haiti - Justice : Case Clifford Brandt, details on the 5 police officers arrested
In its latest report, dated November 13, 2012, on the case Clifford Brandt, the National Network for the Defence of Human Rights (RDDDH) deplores that the National Police of Haiti (PNH) "authorizes its active agents to engage in parallel activities."

RNDDH considers that this is a great danger, because these agents can easily be placed on the payroll of gang leaders and unlawfully enrich themselves, stating in its report that "in such circumstances, it is difficult to ensure the morality of police troops."

Recall that among the 15 people arrested in the case Clifford Brandt, are found justly five police officers involved in the security of the Brandt family and of its factories.

The report of the RNDDH precise the status of each police arrested :

"Marc-Arthur Phebe, officer, responsible for CAT Team at the National Palace, is also responsible for the security of the Brandt family as well as its plants. He had under his command about 90 employees among them, four (4) police oficers. He receives a monthly income of 220,000 gourdes.

Jacques Darly Michelais, Agent 4 works part time in a security company 'Société Générale de Sécurité' (SGS), he ensures the security of Caroline, one of the children of Brandt. He touches 7.500 Gourdes per fortnight.

Fritz Aristide, Agent 4, police officer of the 5th promotion, assigned to the police station of Port-au-Prince, joined the security group and receives 15.000 Gourdes monthly.

Oneste Gabellus, Agent 3, police officer of the 14th promotion, assigned to the police station of Port-au-Prince is integrated into the security group and receives 7.500 gourdes per fortnight.

Gérald Fontellus, PNH officer, 19th promotion, assigned to the Motorized Intervention Brigade (BIM), provides security for some members of the Brandt family"
