Haiti - Politic : Haiti unanimously nominated, observer member of SEGIB 18/11/2012 09:42:09
For the President Michel Martelly, this appointment means that Haiti returns to its central position in the world "We are pleased to regain that international visibility within international organizations such as the SEGIB. Now, more than ever, Haiti recovers its voice in the world. For our country, this international repositioning means that we regained the international confidence. All this is the result of the implementation of public policies for education, employment, investment and of development for the benefit the people of Haiti." Remember that Haiti is renowned for its trajectory, its participation in major international organizations to promote peace, cooperation among nations, peoples' freedom and the respect of human rights. Haiti is one of the founding members of the United Nations (UN), of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the precursor of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS). In addition to its participation in the Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government of his official visit to the European Union on 19 and 20 November, where he will present a report of the work done thanks to the support received from the EU, the President Martelly will visit Italy on November 22 to meet the Supreme Pontiff Benedict XVI at the Vatican.
