Haiti - Justice : Arrests in the case of the agronomist Jean Mary Patrice Etienne

Monday at a press briefing, the Divisional Commissioner Frantz Èlbe, Departmental Director of the police of South East, confirmed the arrest of 7 individuals, 4 of which are involved in the kidnapping of the child Johim Xiam Etienne [3], and the murder of the agronomist Jean Mary Patrice Etienne, committed in the night from Saturday 17 to Sunday, November 18, 2012 they are Mardy Yvenson aka "Diolo", Laloi Girot as well as his wife Gelin Dieuline and Alexandre Jerry, aka "Johnny".

The Commissioner Èlbe explained "during the arrest of Laloi Girot in the communal section of Cap Rouge [town of Cayes-Jacmel], he clearly identified himself as the person who received the ransom on the hands of one of the members of the family of the victim. Laloi Girot, who had braided hair, after committing the act, cut his hair in order to deceive the vigilance of the police. About Mardy Yvenson, it is him that ensured the transport of hostage from Cyvadier to Fond Alexis [suburb Jacmel]."

The number 1 of the PNH, declared that the criminals had confessed, to have planned to throw the little Johim in a tank on the courtyard of an unfinished hotel in Fond Alexis, places they used to sequester their hostage, in case of non payment of ransom by the family of Johim.

Pierre-Michel Lafontant, the Divisional Delegate of South-East, welcomed the crackdown of the police and invited the population of Jacmel, to put alongside the police to track down the bandits. "Jodi a se bandi ki pou pè se pa nou ki dwe pè bandi."
