Haiti - Technology : Launch of the first Haitian Cyber Tap-Tap
Tuesday, at the National Palace, the President Martelly, has launched the Project Cyber ​​Tap-Tap. This project designed by the Presidency is primarily intended to the initiation of young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods to computers but also to raise awareness among students on the use of Information Technology and Communication (ICT). Thanks to Cyber ​​Tap-Tap, high school students, can also easily access the Internet and to websites of educational games for free.

The Head of State guarantees that instructors will be trained to mentor disadvantaged beneficiaries throughout the tendepartments in the country. . "ICT is a solution for a country's development and prosperity of a people. Our young people must have access to all the technological tools to enforce their intellectual capital and go to conquer the markets of today and of future."

Philppe Barthole of the Multilink, Responsible, as coordinator to carry out this project explained "[...] the Internet [by satellite] we have installed on this truck can operate at any point in the territory [...] The interior of Cyber ​​Tap-Tap, can accommodate 12 people, there are 12 computers, 1 is for the instructor and the other 11 are for users. Cyber ​​Tap-Tap is also WIFI, schoolchildren outside, can use their laptop, tablet or other and connect to the internet [...]"



Mr. Charles Levelt Joseph, Director General of the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training, present at the ceremony, applauded this approach of the Presidency and stated that "the Head of State is currently marking the history, taking into account its determination to invest in education."

The first prototype of Cyber ​​Tap-Tap, presented on Tuesday, is equipped with an independent power and all relevant materials, that can meet standards of ICT. "I hope that the material available to children is carefully maintained and that this pilot experience ucceed and spread throughout the country," declared the President Martelly.
