Haiti - Security : Arrest of 3 members of a powerful gang in Petit-Goâve

During a police operation Friday, December 21 around 6:00 pm, police apprehended to the street Lamarre, in the presence of theJustice of the Peace Me Winy Fred, 3 members of a powerful gang, which operated in the region of Palmes, they are Ronald Desroches, Stevenchy Popotte (an individual deported) and his wife, a Léoganâise.

Stevenchy Popotte a dangerous criminal is suspected of involvement in the assassination in Leogane, the previous week, of a Ecuadorian businessman. Police found in his house a firearm manufactured locally (weapon Creole).

According to some information, Stevenchy is also suspected of having killed a dozen people. The police was pleased to have achieved this crackdown, thanks to information provided by the people "We are determined to pursue bandits wherever they are [...] we will apprehend them everywhere and we will restore Peace in Petit-Goâve. We thank the population for its cooperation," declared the ew Commissioner of Police, of Petit-Goâve.
