Haiti - Security : The PNH now has more than 10,000 agents
Sunday at the Police Academy during a ceremony, 239 new police officers, including 14 women, of the 23rd promotion of the National Police of Haiti received their diplomas. The PNH now has a total of 10,181 men and women and should reach a total of more than 15,000 agents by 2016.

The new officers received their diplomas after more than 8 months of training in police science but also in law, with components such as the human right, the right of the child, the concept of gender and violence against women "Be a good police officer, is not simply the exercise of a profession," stated Jean Miguelite Maximé, Academy Director and Inspector General of the PNH "It is a life of sacrifice, self-denial, which requires values ​​such as honor, courage, morality and respect for laws."

In his speech Jean Renel Sanon, the Minister of Justice and Public Security declared "[...] Now these 239 young people will strengthen the existing police staff, which despite the challenges, bravely subscribe to play its role in the apparatus of social control. The Head of State and the Prime Minister wanted to be present to tis graduation ceremony unfortunately they are restrained by of obligations and they charged me to reiterate their commitment to the process of development and professionalization of the police force that represents the backbone of the rule of law. I congratulate Mr Godson Aurélus, the Director General of the National Police, for his leadership at the head of the police institution, my congratulations also go to the director of schools of continuing education, the Inspector General Miguelite Maxime, and to the body of instructors for quality training provided to police recruits. I extend a special thanks to the international community and to the Minustah for their technical and financial support throughout the process.

In addition I can not thank the valorous parents who have accepted to confide us their children.
