Haiti - Politic : «This Government is a Government of firefighter» (dixit Mirlande Manigat)

Mirlande Manigat described the Government "of Government of firefighter", criticizes the statements of Ralph Théano, the Minister responsible for relations with Parliament, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-7647-haiti-politic-reactions-around-the-actions-of-the-pri.html , following the action of deputies of minority bloc of deputies "Parliamentarians for Institutional Strengthening" (PRI) on January 14, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-7637-haiti-politic-deplorable-spectacle-in-parliament.html before sharing some of her thoughts, on a possible cabinet reshuffle.

"[...] That Government is a Government of firefighter, it means that the fire is started, it tries to extinguish it, but while they extinguish the fire, it lights up others.

Instead of adopting a language comprehensive, they insult the parliamentarians [...] I think that the Minister [Ralph Théano, the Minister responsible for Relations with Parliament] https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-7647-haiti-politic-reactions-around-the-actions-of-the-pri.html said, what the government told him to say. I do not think that a Minister would have taken the responsibility to react with so much violence, so careless and disrespectful if it was not authorized by the Government or, if it not known, that whatever what it would say, the Government would agree [...]"

Regarding rumors on a possible cabinet reshuffle, Mrs. anigat sharing some of her thoughts on the interest and importance of the changes.

"...] In all countries of the world, changes in government are common [...] change all the Government including the Prime Minister or change ministers, are two different things. In the situations in which we find ourselves, there are what is called cosmetic changes, that is to say, if this or that person does not make his work, we replace it. There are what is called the change of musical chairs, that is to say a minister was in such a position, we put it to such other position [...]

I would say that a change of government is important and useful, to the extent that the government policy will also change, but, if it is to apply the same policy, it is not worthwhile to make some changes in the government. There are names that circulate [rumors], it is not worth to repeat them, because there are always people who are not ministrables and others no [...] But there is always a small period of uncertainty and suspense [...] it is a period which should not last because it slowed down the governmental action and in the country, this creates an expectation useless : it is you who will be Minister ? hey called you ? this name is down or up ? I think it is useless to do it like this, we must wait to see the change, to see if there is a change in policy. [...]"
