Haiti - Social : Carnival of Jacmel D-1
Again this year Jacmel, awaits visitors from here and elsewhere which over the years have made of the Carnival of this city an unavoidable cultural event.

This Sunday, February 3, 2013, craftsmen, designers of giant masks, which describe all the social reality of Haiti, of our history will join groups disguised and musical for a spectacular parade. "Compared to previous years, the parade could be extended over 2.5km of streets of the town, from Barranquilla Avenue through the historic center of Jacmel, commonly called the bottom of the city, the place Congo, to the official stand," indicated Jean-Michel Sabbat, President of Carnival of Jacmel 2013.

Jacmel, greets visitors to the beaches ofKabik, Ti Mouillage, Raymond des Bains, the fall of Bassin Bleu or to the Cascades Pichon.

Message from the President of the Carnival of Jacmel 2013, Jean-Michel Sabbat :
"Ladies and Gentlemen,
Jacméliens, Jacméliennes,
Jacmel friends, distinguished guests,

It is a great honor for me, as President of Carnival 2013, to congratulate you all for your commitment, your passion and your full participation alongside us for the success of this family celebration, regional and national, for 83 years now, gave our community its particular cachet. Jacmel, town of carnival in Haiti, has never wavered to its vocation of hospitality towards visitors and friends ; its legendary hospitality and especially its varied beauty, rich culturally and humanly.

It is thus for us a duty of memory to remind us that 'the Jacmélitude' that we had taken as a watchword for these happy events must closer us more despite the difficulties already encountered in order to affirm freely and without restraint to all that the spirit Jacmélien is still alive under the embers of abandonment, forced exiles and volunteers. The carnival of Jacmel is a reference for the country not only by the colors that are deployed but also for its originality.

So thank you to all the players, all participants, to the press spoken, written and televised who supported the committee for having help it do do its job to the best of its ability ; thank you to the masked groups, musical bands, walking bands who have given extraordinary performance at the pre-carnival parade and who will do their best to put once again Jacmel in the spotlight, at the occasion of this national carnival.

Vive Jacmel !
Vive the Carnival of Jacmel"
