Yesterday, Thursday, the President of the Republic, Michel Martelly, has signed the book of condolences to President Hugo Chavez, during a meeting held at the residence of the Ambassador of Venezuela to Port-au-Prince, Mr. Antonio Pedro Gonzalez Canino.

"I make of President Chavez my main inspiration in the fight that I lead for the poor in Haiti," declared the Head of State, recalling his great consideration and love for the Venezuelan leader, Hugo Chavez, which has made the cause of the poorest in the world one of its main concerns.

For his part, Venezuelan Ambassador, Mr. Pedro Gonzalez Canino Antonio, while expressing his solidarity with the Haitian people and to its cause, thanked the President Martelly for his sympathy to the suffering of Venezuelans.
