Haiti - Politic : The Consul Forbin, will chair at the deliberations of the «Consular Corps of New York»
While the President Michel Martelly, ensures the rotating Presidency of the Community and Common Market (CARICOM) since January 1 to July 31, 2013, the Consul General of the Republic of Haiti in New York, Charles Antoine Forbin, will chair the deliberations of the "Consular Corps of New York" composed of members from twelve countries that compose the CARICOM from Wednesday 27 March until the end of June 2013.

This organ that will meet in the premises of the Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in New York, will allow Haiti to regain its place among the negotiators. Indeed, the CARICOM offers this forum where questions of promotion of economic, political and social interests of the Caribbean region are discussed and Haiti will be able to raise its voice.

The CARICOM Consular Corps of New York, created May 11, 1990 in Toronto at the time included only countries that had a consulate in the city. Today, the member countries are : Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St.Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago.
