Haiti - Environment : Creation of municipal spaces for cooking on propane
The program "Recho Pa'w" funded for 3 years by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), seeks to replicate the experience Restoration Centre of the Metropolitan Industrial Park (PIM), which now allows cooked food vendors, through improved stoves manufactured locally, to use propane for cooking (52 cooking stations) instead of charcoal, polluting and damaging for the environment.

To this end, managers and partners of the program "Recho Pa'w", which was created in March 2012, have recently met with representatives of City Hall of several municipalities for introduce the project and discuss the possibilities of creating spaces for cooking on propane under an agreement tri partite "Recho Pa'w", the partners (Sodigaz and Total) and the municipal authorities.

Within the framework of this project, stoves will be proposed to merchant to economic price and the merchant will be formed by the technicians of Sodigaz (which will also be responsible of the installation), to ensure the safe use of the new equipment.

Representatives of town halls said they were very interested in this project beneficial to health and the environment. After identification of the locations and the number of spaces of kitchen with propane, that municipalities are considering, the members of the "Recho Pa'w" will move in the municipalities interested to study the feasibility of the project and provide support to municipalities in the development of these areas of food, clean and safe.
