Haiti - Politic : Installation of members of CTECP Friday ?

While the presidential decree was published on April 11, 2013, in the #63 of official newspaper "Le Moniteur", the 9 members representing the three powers (executive, legislative and judicial) at College Transitional of Permanent Electoral Council (CTCEP) are still not installed. A delay fueling speculation of the opposition, which is convinced that this delay is related to negotiations of the Executive regarding the attribution of key positions, including that of the Presidency of CTCEP to take control of the Electoral Council...

Wednesday, Youri Latortue, the Special Adviser to the Head of State, reiterating the Government's commitment to the holding of elections this year, clarified the situation and announced that the swearing in, followed by the installation of 9 members of CTCEP, whose specific mandate is to organize the upcoming senatorial, municipal and local elections, could take place Friday, April 19. Explaining that the delay is strictly of administrative nature and depends only on the Court of Cassation, which has received an official correspondence, immediately after the publication of the decree confirming the formation of CTCEP.

Designated representatives for the CTECP:

Legislative Power : Pierre Simon Georges ; Néhémy Joseph ; Marie Clunie Dumay Miracles. Executive Power : Jean Marie Vianney Emmanuel Ménard ; Jacqueline Patricia Chantale Raymond ; Gloria Margarette Girault Saint-Louis. Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) : Léopold Berlanger ; Marie Carole Innocent Floreal Duclervil ; Applys Félix.
