The hearing as a witness, of the former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, to be held Wednesday, April 24 has been postponed to an unspecified date by Judge Yvickel Dabrésil, responsible for the instruction of the investigation into the assassination of journalist Jean Leopold Dominique, director of Radio Haiti Inter and of security guard of the station Jean-Claude Louissaint, on 3 April 2000.

This decision was taken due to the holding of the 5th Summit of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) [from April 23 to 26] and the threat Monday Dr. Maryse Narcisse, coordinator of Fanmi Lavalas, which while saying that Jean-Bertrand Aristide was ready to cooperate with the judicial authorities, in compliance with the provisions of the law, threaten to win the streets the day of the hearing of their leader and go after the regime of President Michel Martelly, that Fanmi Lavalas accuses of exploiting justice.

Me Camille Leblanc, who said not to be a lawyer consists of former president Aristide in this case, which was mandated for the hearing on behalf of the former president, confirmed the decision of the judge, evoking the impossibility of guaranteeing the protection of Lavalas leader and of participants of the 5th Summit of the ACS, which involves an already a very important safety system due to the large number of Heads of State, Ambassadors and Chancellors simultaneously participating in the summit. "The judge Dabrésil works independently on the case. The judge is master of his investigation, he may decide the perfect time to interview a person of his choice," Me Camille Leblanc said.

In addition, the Fanmi Lavalas party, continues to maintain the confusion, Me Mario Joseph, a lawyer of the 'État Major' of Party, continues to deny the existence of a convocation to the judge's office, the upper echelons of the party did not hesitate to speak of conspiracy against the Lavalas leader. Note that this meeting has been confirmed by the judge Dabrésil, by Delva, Presidential Advisor and Me Camille Leblanc who received this invitation on behalf of President Aristide.
