Haiti - Literature :  International Colloquium around the work of the poet Georges Castera Fils
The Foundation Culture Création (FCC), announced the holding Thursday 2 to Saturday, May 4, 2013, in Port-au-Prince, of an international symposium on the work of one of the greatest figures in contemporary Haitian poetry, Georges Castera Fils, under the theme "the Haitian poetry in the Latin American and Caribbean context. The place of Georges Castera Fils".

While poetry seems overshadowed in many countries, it remains a favorite genre in many countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. In Haiti, we speak of a major genre, with a high production of poetic works.

The Haitian modern and contemporary poetry, both local and migrant, evolving and is practiced extensively in both official languages ​​French and Creole, which is affirmed at the end of endless struggles, including of the poet Georges Castera Fils, who practiced both languages ​​on a regular basis, in respect of its publications which are an impressive work.

This colloquium, managed and coordinated by the FCC, is part of the Legacy Project (projet Legs) esigned by Georges Castera. The implementation of the colloquium received the support in particular of the UEH , the UNIQ, the French Institute of Haiti (IFH), Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (Fokal) and Anne Marie Morisset (FAMM) Foundation.

This colloquium brings together many experts from various countries, who will speak in six panels (Conference debate) on the following themes :

"From the late style at Georges Castera. Ultimate freedom and a sense of disaster." Guest speaker Joel Des Rosiers, poet and essayist (Canada);
"Percussion daily: on a few beneficial cheating" by Christiane Ndiaye (Canada);
"Poetry Creole by Georges Castera and standard issue: the case of Vibrasyon, Gate priyè and Bow" by Renauld Govain (Haiti) ;
"Embezzlement, Perversions, subversions in the drawings of Georges Castera" by Gary Augustine, poet and critic (Haiti)
"Georges Castera, critical reader" by Nadève Ménard (Haiti)
"Poet forefront in Haiti: Negritude and Surrealism, the poetic art of Aimé Césaire" Guest Speaker by Roger Toumson, literary theorist, poet and essayist (Guadeloupe)
"Erection and softening of political thought in the poetry of French expression of Geoges Castera" by Jean Durosier Desrivières poet, critic and dramatist (Haiti);
"The Haitian poetry of trauma" by Jeremy Metz (USA);
"Between the line and the word" by Pierre Clitandre, poet and critic (Haiti);
"Games and linguistic issues in the poetry of Georges Castera: eroticism, politics, ideology" by Dieulermesson Petit-Frère (Haiti):
"Creole Poetics" by guest speaker, Claude Pierre, poet and essayist (Haiti)
"For a poetic Creole : writing, oral and poetic modernity at Georges Castera" by Normelia Parise (Brazil);
"Persistence of Poetry" by Bonel Auguste, poet (Haiti);
"Poetry, vigilance and transcendence at Georges Castera" by Hérold Toussaint (Haiti);
