The 19th Edition of Livres en Folie, will open its doors Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Historic Park of the Sugar Canefrom 10 am to 5 pm. This year, for the first time, the Guest of honor will be the writer Lyonel Trouillot. 1,436 titles will be on sale [with 40% discount for buyers] and 129 authors will be in sale-signature that day.

For Frantz Duval, Chief Editor of the newspaper "Le Nouvelliste" one of the organizers of the event, "Josette Darguste is the fourth Minister of Culture that supportsLivres en Folie." One way to highlight that the continuity of the State to serve authors and writers is assured. "We also want to thank the commitment of President Martelly, the first Head of State to participate twice in Livres en Folie, we must highlight it, because it was not done before." Mr. Duval also thanked the financial contribution of the Ministries of Culture and Planning.

Guy Supplice, representative of Unibank, a partner of ivres en folie, said for his part that the welcoming of Ministry of Culture in this cultural event was proof that the entity was aware of the commitment it should take with the initiators of the event. "The Unibank renews its commitment to continue to 'faire route ensemble' with culture in all its forms in the country," he said. We put available to Livres en folie our financial, human and technological resources. This allows Livres en folie to be a national event now in 14 cities across the counters of Unibank, including on the island of La Gonâve"

Innovations : "First, this year, access to Livres en Folie is not free. said Frantz Duval. The 150 gourdes claimed to the participants, it is not to makes pay the readers," he reassured "but to encourage visitors to buy books of Haitian authors [...] The 150 gourdes will give you at the entry, to 100 gourdes off through a coupon for buy any book within the fair and 50 gourdes on one of the 129 books in signature and another 50 gourdes to buy a children's book. Finally, Digicel will offer you a calling card of 50 gourdes. [...] This is a practical innovation [...] Other innovations are within the 129 books that will be signed this year."

Frantz Duval took the opportunity to announce that the winners of two scholarships Barbancourt will be known on Tuesday evening during a cocktail in honor of the writer Lyonel Trouillot.
