Haiti - Health : Towards a solution to the ban imports of Dominican products...?
After a meeting led by President Danilo Medina at the National Palace in Santo Domingo, Luis Ramon Rodriguez, the Dominican Minister of Agriculture announced that a significant governmental Commission of the Dominican Republic will travel to Haiti this Wednesday, June 12, 2013 to meet with officials from neighboring countries to try to find an amicable and lasting solution, on the irregular ban of export of poultry, eggs and live animals imposed since last Friday by Haiti.

Remember that following this unilateral interdiction from Haiti, without consultation with neighboring authorities, the latter and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), have since confirmed in a joint statement, that no one case of case of bird flu or swine flu in the Dominican Republic was recorded and that it was probably a confusion between virus A / H1N1 (seasonal human flu) which can not be transmitted to animals and avian influenza H5N1
