Thursday, the organizers of the 2nd Edition of Haiti Fashion Week, have proceeded to the launch of this international event, in the presence among others of Maguy Durcé, President of the Haitian Center of Support and Promotions of Business (CHAPE) and President of this 2nd Edition, Michel Chataigne, Coordinator of the event, Maëlle David, Representative of the Network of Haitian Designers, Johanna Sylvain Joseph, Representative of the Support Program for Strengthening of Culture and Art for Economic and Social Development (ARCADES) of the European Union, Brigandi Raphaël and Mrs. Immacula Richard, representatives of the Ministry of Culture as well as Haiti designers and stylists of renowned such as David André, Miko Guillaume, Phelicia Dell and Valéry Vilain.

The 2nd Edition of Haiti Fashion Week will be held this year from 19 to 21 September 2013 on the theme "Mod’ifions notre environnement" (Let's modify our environment). This event will see in addition to the Haitian Fashion designers and creators, the participation of foreign designers invited from Africa, America, Europe and the Caribbean, aims to strengthen the industry in Haiti.

Michel Chataigne, stated that the choice of theme interpellate the designers to design in harmony with the environment and recycle materials to give them a second life, artistic and aesthetics. More than 30 local and foreign designers have already expressed their interest to attending the event, indicated Michel Chataigne, stressing that several criteria are subject to verification by the organizers, the participants must not only to meet the artistic standards but also demonstrate their real ability to promotion, marketing and production, in order to meet the expectations of buyers.

According to Mrs. Durcé "Haiti can live of the fashion," hoping that this activity will continue to be a veritable source of income for Haitian designers.

At the program for this second edition of Haiti Fashion Week, among other activities : fashion shows, business meetings, an exhibition-sale, a forum on the textile industry, a gala evening.

The YOKE Association, bearer of project, received for the completion of this second edition, €100,000, through the ARCADES program, representing 90% of the funding for this important event.
