Haiti - Social : Judge Me Jean Serge Joseph passed away

Judge Me Jean Serge Joseph who was in charge among other things, of the instruction of the file concerning two members of the presidential family following a complaint filed by Me André Michel and Me Newton Saint-Juste, died Saturday night at the Bernard Mevs hospital where he had been admitted in emergency early in the morning, after a cerebrovascular accident (CVA) also known as stroke.

In a statement, the Ministry of Justice expresses its dismay at the disappearance and deplores the behavior of some unscrupulous individuals, who want to use the disappearance of Judge Joseph for political purposes.

"The Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) has learned with dismay the sad news of the death of Me Jean Serge Joseph, judge and investigating judge to the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince.

While presenting its deepest sympathies to the relatives of the deceased and to all the Haitian Judiciary, the Ministry of Justice deplores the behavior of some individuals, malicious and unscrupulous, who try to use for political purposes the body of the Magistrate. MJSP hastens to ask these people, to show a minimum of respect to the place of the Magistrate who has devoted a large part of his life at the service of Law and Justice.

Jean Renel Sanon a.v. Minister."
