Haiti - Politic : Laurent Lamothe met French Ambassador Patrick Nicoloso

On Friday, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe received in his office at the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Haiti, Patrick Nicoloso.

The Head of Government took the opportunity not only to thank France for its support, especially after the earthquake of January 12, 2010, but also to attest of the interest that the Administration Martelly gives to the Haitian-french relations.

Prime Minister Lamothe, also welcomed the consolidation of friendship between the two peoples while reiterating the commitment of his Government to work with other international partners to address the challenges faced by Haiti.

For his part, Ambassador Patrick Nicoloso, has renewed his country's commitment to continue and to strengthen cooperation with Haiti through the four priorities identified in the Action Plan (2013-2015) of France in Haiti :

  • Strengthening Education ;

  • Strengthening the capacity of the state and of the democratic governance ;

  • Large infrastructure projects ;

  • The support to sustainable development.

After this fruitful meeting, Laurent Lamothe invited Ambassador Nicoloso to assess French interventions in Haiti and reiterated the commitment of his Government to work to get the country out of the threshold of underdevelopment and make it an emerging country by 2030.
