Haiti - Reconstruction : Camp-Perrin, a town under construction

On Friday, Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, went to Camp Perrin, on the occasion of the Sainte-Anne, to oversee the projects of the Government in this town with cultural and tourism vocation. The visit was also an opportunity for the Head of Government to inaugurate, along with the Deputy Ogline Pierre [riding Camp-Perrin/Maniche], a public square entirely funded by the public treasury.

Speaking before thousands of people, the Prime Minister also confirmed the resumption of construction work of the road Camp-Perrin/Jérémie and announced the expropriation and compensation for residents living in areas bordering this axis "The start of construction of Camp Perrin is part of a series of projects initiated by my Government to develop the municipalities and provide basic services to the population [...]" stressed the Prime Minister.

The Government has also funded to the tune of 85.448 U.S. dollars, the rehabilitation of the Sainte-Anne Priestly School of Camp-Perrin and started construction of the National School Immaculate Conception, which will be inaugurated in the academic year of 2014.

Thousands of citizens of Camp-Perrin/Maniche have already benefited from the National Social Assistance Programme (Ede pèp). 3000 kits of inputs and seeds have been distributed to farmers through the program Kore Plantè.

The Prime Minister also paid a brief visit to Saut-Mathurine where the Government has undertaken for 2 months of rehabilitation works, preservation and safeguarding aimed at monetize this wonderful tourist site and create job opportunities for the benefit of Haitian youth. More than 4 million gourdes are engaged for the construction of the road leading to Saut-Mathurine, construction that is already well advanced.

A presidential decree declaring the site "protected area", will be published soon, announced the Prime Minister, who promised to transform Saut-Mathurine in a natural tourist attraction area and called for the cooperation and solidarity of all sectors of national life to preserve the fall of Saut-Mathurine.
