Haiti - Reconstruction : Visit of Prime Minister in Baradères (Nippes) 11/08/2013 09:39:18 The Head of Government visited the work of correction, containment, clogging and gabionade, which are performed in Baradères River, which in flooded, generally causes major damage. He also visited the construction site of the Community Referral Hospital of the town. More than a hundred houses are being renovated under the program "Ranje kay katye". In addition, the project of concreting of the municipality, electrification and lighting of his main roads are being executed. "Despite the satisfaction of Baraderois regarding the completion of this work, it is not enough. Other resources will be mobilized to implement other types of projects for the most vulnerable segment of the population to which the President and I are dedicated and committed to change their living conditions," declared Laurent Lamothe. During his meeting with elected officials, community leaders and residents of the town, the Prime Minister promised to consider their demands, regarding inter alia : adequate school infrastructure, environmental protection, road, port, administrative, judicial and health infrastructure. The Head of Government announced for this purpose the creation of a departmental monitoring committee which will be composed of ministers and elected officials of the department to achieve the needed development projects in the Nippes. Report having already informed Jacques Rousseau, Minister of Public Works, in order to accelerate the work of cleaning of the river Baradères. As for Ms. Florence Guillaume, the Minister of Health, she will ensure the termination of construction work of a hospital in the town, said the Prime Minister. That same day, the Government, through the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) launched the sub-program "Ti manman cheri" and "Panye solidarité" of the national social assistance plan "Ede pèp". More than 350 mothers have been registered to "Ti manman cheri" and each received a financial grant in the perspective of the education of their children enrolled in Universal Schooling Program Free and Compulsory (PSUGO). Responding to the grievances of the people of Baradères, the Prime Minister announced the increase in beneficiaries to the program "Ede pèp" and also committed to increase the number of houses to renovate, of solar panels in the town and put material resources at the disposal of police officers of the town. At the end of his visit, the Prime Minister called for the exploitation of resources and potential of Baradères, to make it a tourist attraction. HL/ SL/ HaitiLibre
