Monday, Jean Renel Sanon, the Minister of Justice, confirmed that Me Francisco René, the Chief prosecutor of Port-de-Paix, replace the Prosecutor of Port-au-Prince, Me Lucmane Delille in office since October 30, 2012. An appointment that has already attracted the protest even before the installation of the new Commissioner.

Note that Me Francisco René became the 9th Commissioner of Government since the accession to power of President Martelly [Me Lucmane Délille, Me Jean-Claude Dabrésil, Me Elco Saint-Amant, Renel Sénatus, Harrycidas Auguste, Sonel Jean François, Félix Léger, Lionel Constant Bourgouin].

Unknown of the general public, Me Francisco René, Prosecutor challenged of the Prosecutor of Port-de-Paix and President of the Association of Haitian Magistrates (ASMAH) is preceded by a reputation of scandals in cascade. Me Carlos Hercules, the President of the Federation of Law Societies of Haiti (FBH) is categorically opposed to this appointment "We know that this is a very conflicted figure [...] It has already made three jurisdictions and accumulated scandal after scandal. He still has problems with the bars where he goes," indicating that he was immediately sent a letter to the Minister of Justice to inform him of his objection.

Regarding the reason for the change, the Minister Sanon indicated that Me Lucmane Delille was now Project Manager and responsible for the coordination of various Prosecutor's office of the Republic stating "If I was not satisfied with his work, I would have dismissed him" emphasizing that now, Me Delille work with him in his office at the Ministry.

Despite the controversial reputation of Me Francisco René, the Minister Sanon intends to give him his support saying that this is someone who "brings order and I appreciate his work."
