Haiti - Agriculture : Livestock identification operation in the North
Michel Chancy, the Secretary of State for Animal Production reported that after 22 days of campaign, more than 8,000 cattle have been vaccinated and identified with earrings in the town of Limonade, noting that operations of this pilot phase, will continue until 31 August 2013.

The farmers made ​​a contribution of 35 gourdes per animal (25 gourdes for the pair of earrings and the identification booklet, more 10 gourdes for immunization against anthrax).

After evaluation of the pilot phase, the Ministry of Agriculture will launch the massive livestock identification phase in the 32 municipalities in the North and Northeast. Over the next 3 months that will last this new phase, the Ministry anticipates the identification and vaccination of 170,000 head of cattle.
