Haiti - Reconstruction : End of tour of President Martelly in Grand Anse
Wednesday, the President Michel Martelly, has terminated his 3-days tour in Grand Anse where major infrastructure (roads, electricity network, public market, school and extracurricular institutions, etc...) progressing apace. During this tour, the President Martelly went particularly in Beaumont, to Léon, Prévilée and Downtown of Jérémie.

After a visit to Lycée Saint Luc of Jérémie, founded in 1995, but whose onstruction was incomplete, the Head of State gave formal instructions for the work to be completed shortly.

Moreover, in the presence, among others of, Mrs. Yanick Mézile, the Minister for the Status and Rights of Women (MCFDF) and several hundred women in the region, the President Martelly proceeded to the official opening in the city of poets, of the House of Women. This is the 4th initiative of its kind across the country. This structure is called to enhance the actions of MCFDF in the context of improving the living conditions of the Haitian people. The Head of State has encouraged women to become more involved in the process of recovery of Grand Anse.



Ralph Théano, the Minister in Charge of Relations with Parliament, represented the President Martelly, due to obligations that awaited him in Port-au-Prince, to a working lunch with representatives of civil society and members of the chamber of Commerce of the department. This encounter was on, among other things, the common provisions to be taken for the development of the region.

The day before, President Martelly, was in León and Prévilée two communal sections of Jérémie where he met among others the CASECS Vallès Paul, de Léon and Octane Louis, of Prévilée, who emphasized him the necessity of building roads and to decentralize public services. They also want the establishment of police stations to ensure the safety of the population and called for community health centers that will allow to have an immediate access to basic health care. The Head of State, has pledged his full support and that of the Government to the citizens of these two communal sections.
