Haiti - Social : Bill on the recognition of volunteer work as professional experience 16/09/2013 10:43:41 According to Jude Jean Jacques, the National President of JCI-Haiti "This bill aims to encourage young Haitians to engage more in community development activities by taking social responsibility and engament citizen. Two elements that are essential to achieve the development dreamed so much for Haiti." It is Jean-Tolbert Alexis, President of the Lower House who received the document of the bill. Jean Tolbert Alexis expressed his satisfaction for the excellent work carried out by JCI-Haiti in Haitian society and proposed, as Deputy to formally endorse this bill and that monitoring will be made to ensure that the bill be sent in Committee. Intervening as a volunteer advocate of JCI-Haiti, Me Aviol Fleurant firmly believes that "this bill on voluntary work will promote social progress and will create better living conditions in Haiti. Volunteer work [...] is the duty of every person towards its country, its community and his community. This bill [...] will promote social cohesion and will participate significantly in the full integration of citizens in social and cultural life of its community and will form the basis his future professional experience. This bill intends to enhance, protect organizations and volunteer workers in Haiti. He also suggested that the date of 22 December is established as a national day of volunteer work.
