Tuesday, after the official opening of the 68th regular session of the General Assembly of the United Nations [New York from 22 to 26 September 2013] and the firsts speeches of use, the Secretary General of the UN, Ban KI Moon received during a lunch all heads of delegation.

The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe took the opportunity to discuss the Haitian issue with several Heads of State and Government. He made a plea emphasizing the progress made by the country since the last General Assembly, claiming that international meetings and summits, held recently in Haiti, are visible and tangible evidence of the evolution of the situation. He took the opportunity to invite them to see the situation in Haiti themselves.

Continuing its efforts to promote private investment in Haiti, the Prime Minister met with several American businessmen and businesswomen. The improvement the business environment and security, political stability, the low cost of Haitian labor, were incentives elements put forward to convince them to invest in Haiti.

The Head of Government then met with the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama to discuss the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. During this conversation the two men explored possible avenues of cooperation and have agreed to sign a basic agreement to formalize the agreement between Ghana and Haiti. Laurent Lamothe expressed the desire of the Haitian people to build strong relationships with all the peoples of Africa. He will meet on Thursday, the President of Senegal Mr. Macky Sall.

Other important meetings are scheduled on Wednesday, including one organized by the "Clinton Global Initiative" (CGI), which brings together the partners of Haiti, where the Prime Minister Lamothe, will be the keynote speaker. Rebuilding Haiti will be the preferred theme in the discussions that will take place on this occasion. Thursday, Prime Minister of Haiti, will deliver a speech to the UN General Assembly.
