Haiti - Economy : Heineken will invest more than $100M in Haiti
On Monday, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, who met Mr. Stefan Orlowski, Heineken President of the Americas, currently visiting Haiti as part of a corporate investment of 100 million dollars, declared on the sidelines of the meeting "[...] as you know, Heineken bought the Brasserie Nationale D'Haiti, S.A. (Brana) [$40 million] and will invest over the next year more than $100 million, with the President, we did a review of their investments.

You know that the Government's objective is to push private investment in Haiti, the international private investment as well as domestic investment [...] a new production line will be installed at the National Brewery to produce more Prestige, more Malta. He also announced me that he will start to work with farmers, in order to buy the raw material locally, this is a great victory for us. Again, this demonstrates that there is job creation, and that the country moves forward and that a large company like Heineken invests in the country.

I thank the President for having met with me today to explain me, what types of investments and how they will be done and I thank all the partners who are involved in these investments."

For his part Stefan Orlowski said he was pleased to be an investor in Haiti and that Haiti was open for business.
