Friday, Major David Bazile, Minister of Interior and Territorial Communities and also Chairman of the National Committee for the Fight against Laundering of Assets (CNLBA), opened a workshop on the strategy of implementation of the law sanctioning money laundering and the financing of terrorism, by attacking that this latter is passed in identical terms by the two branches of Haitian Parliament.

In his speech for the occasion, David Basile, gave his appreciation of work already carried out so far by the CNLBA to address this problem likely to gangrene and destabilize the foundations of the Haitian society. The Minister expressed his wish to see the organ continue to work with all partner institutions to find effective mechanisms to strengthen and sustain the government's actions in the fight against transnational fraud and has called for the establishment of a Ad hoc monitoring committee, bringing together the different actors, responsible for considering strategies that will facilitate the implementation of this law and ensure the coordination of activities within the framework of this struggle.

Took part in this workshop conducted under the obedience of the National Commission for the Fight against Drugs (CONALD), representatives of the Ministries of Justice, Economy and Finance, Planning and External Cooperation, of the Primature, the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH), the Central financial Intelligence Unit (UCREF), the General Administration of Customs (AGD), the Office of the Special Administration Fund (BAFOS), the Professional Association of Banks (APB) as well as the Deputy A. Rodon Bien-Aimé, the President of the Economic and Finance Committee of the Lower House.

Note that the CNLBA is a body established in February 2001 that is responsible for coordinating and recommending prevention policies, of detections and suppression of money laundering.
