Thursday, Watson Joseph, Consultant of the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT) declared in the evening on the show "tribune populaire" of the air of Radio Préférence FM that "the solution of Petit Goâve now depends on the Petit-Goâviens themselves, who must observe a truce while allowing the Special Technical Committee (CTS) created by the MICT, to settle and to fulfill its mission." https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12300-haiti-flash-petit-goave-placed-under-the-supervision-of-the-state.html

Stating that once invested, the "Committee will meet all sectors of the community, the different branches of the opposition, members of civil society and community leaders, in order to achieve, in the transparency, the appointment of members of the new municipal Commission of Petit-Goâve [...] it will be possible only if the calm and peace back in the city [...] The population must collaborate by remaining at home peacefully."

In addition, M, Joseph gave the assurance that "if Petit-Goâviens abstain to demonstrate, the CTS will take office from Friday, October 24 and the crisis will be resolved in five days," adding "It is up to citizens to choose between the end of the crisis and the destruction of their town. That is why, I ask the leaders of the local opposition to urge people to go home and agree to cooperate with the Committee for a quick release of the crisis of Petit-Goâve." Adding that for now Sandra Jules has no power over the Town Hall of Petit-Goâve and that the bank accounts of the Town Hall were blocked.

Reacting to the words of Consultant of the Ministry, Gétheau Lindor, rejected with a wave of hand the decision of the Ministry of Interior and demanded as a condition for stopping the protest movement: the dismissal of Mayor Sandra Jules; the opening of an investigation by the Unit for Combating Corruption (ULCC) on the management of Sandra Jules and the release of a new presidential decree, appointing another communal Commission...

In response, the consultant explained to the representative of the opposition that "the role of the Technical Committee is to lead to the establishment of new interim staff proposed by the local opposition itself but it must be done in the dialogue, peace and tranquility [...] We need a Commission of consensus reflecting the wishes of all sector..."

While calling on local and central authorities to resolve as soon as possible the crisis raging in Petit Goâve, the judge Arentz March urged people to protest in the calm.

Recall that Thursday except the Peace Court, schools, public offices doors and most shops were closed.
