Haiti - Education : 185 young professionals from Cité Soleil graduated 28/02/2015 10:38:02 Trained after 10 months of theoretical and practical courses under the supervision of Professors of the National Vocational Training Institute (INFP) in eight training courses : cutting and sewing, cosmetology, masonry, fishing, baking, motorcycle mechanics, mechanical generator, kitchen and ironwork, these young people from Cité Soleil say they are better equipped to face the future with confidence and dignity. Under the motto "Learning to better face life," the young say they are determined to start a new phase of their lives, filled with hope. The Minister Manigat, who chaired the ceremony, praised the success of the collaboration between the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF), the Minustah and his Ministry, through the INFP, which allowed these young people to better moving towards the labor market and invent a new life. "This can only have a positive impact on their families, the community of Cité Soleil and to some extent on the entire Haitian society," said the Minister "Cité Soleil is not only the place of disorders repeatedly. It is above all a place where there are young people who want to prepare for their future." He emphasized on the need to offer these young people the opportunity to put into practice the theoretical notions acquisses, either through professional integration, either through financial support channels that can give them the opportunity to create their own business. He gave the guarantee to young recipients, that the State will be at the rendezvous, while asking the partners in the international community to do the same. Ms. Marina Gourgue, Secretary of State for Vocational Training called these young professionals to work in order to create their own business and/or income-generating activities.
