Haiti - Social : 92 young people from difficult neighborhoods, ready to start working life

92 young people from difficult neighborhoods of the capital like Cité Soleil, Simon Pelé Bel Air, Delmas 2, Bois Neuf and Solino, received their diplomas after 6 months in construction-building and are now ready to embark on working life. This training took place in the framework of a project led by the section of the community violence reduction of the

Minustah, produced through funding from the Mission, of about 200,000 U.S. dollars.

Divided into three groups depending on the course chosen, they were trained in masonry, sanitary plumbing or electricity of building. They also attended literacy classes, introduction to entrepreneurship and management of staff and professional resources.

The training, held at the Centre of Vocational Training of the Reform (CFPR) in Port-au-Prince, has been marked by psychological support activities, cultural and sports activities and awareness sessions about the dangers of drugs and violence based on gender.

Among these young people, 58 will be certified by the Haitian government, for having passed the examination proposed by National Vocational Training Institute (INFP).

These young people will also benefit from support for their business and investment in the development of income generating activities for their socio-professional integration.
