Haiti - Elections : INITE said to be victim of an electoral coup failed !
The platform of the power in place "INITE" on Tuesday denied a few hours after the declaration of Senator Joseph Lambert, General Coordinator of the platform, admitting a possible defeat of its presidential candidate Jude Célestin.

INITE accuses the press of making "interpretations contrary to remarks made by Senator Lambert" and states that "the minutes are being collected to determine if its candidate, Jude Célestin had won at the first turn or it would have to participate in the second turn".

Note that according to Alain Gauthier, Canadian technical director of the center tab (centre de tabulation), Tuesday afternoon, about 15.000 of 33.500 minutes (PV) expected had been received. Of these 15.000 PV, over 60% have already been treated. "Most of those minutes are from the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince" said Alain Gauthier.

Sen. Joseph Lambert, considers that the common position of the candidates calling for the cancellation of election "is a manipulation failed it is an electoral coup failed" which INITE is the victim...

Statements of Senator, having given rise to various "interpretations" :
"It's the truth of the ballot boxes, which will determine of course the next elected either at the presidential or legislation level. [...] We are in democracy, democracy is not without conflict, but this does not mean war, what must make the difference they are the ideas and the projects. We are in democracy, we are for the democratic alternation of the power. If we lose the elections at the presidential level we go to the opposition or we can live with the group that would have won the elections but we are a democracy, we are convinced democrats. But we're not there yet"

Sen. Lambert said that INITE was "already in its possession 4 senators and 23 elected deputies." A partisan information to be considered with the usual reserves, pending the official preliminary results.

By sticking to facts only officially reported, not the rumors accusing the party INITE, and other matters involving Sen. Lambert and his reputation in particular, it goes without saying that it is difficult to imagine a single moment INITE in the role of the victim and even less to bring any credibility to the remarks of a Senator whose involvement in acts of violence in Jacmel have been subject several formal complaints, just before the election.
