Thousands of citizens from the 10 communes of the South-East, have organized a protest on Wednesday 24 November in the morning, in front of the public prosecutor's department of Jacmel to provide support to the agronomist Gerald Mathurin, Coordinator of CROSE (Coordination Regional Organizations of the South-East), who was subpoenaed by the prosecutor of Jacmel, following a complaint by Senator Joseph Lambert. Gerald Mathurin is accused of defaming Senator Joseph Lambert, in calling him a "Drug dealer".

Enraged, the protesters threw hostile rhetoric against Senator Joseph Lambert and the Presidential Platform INITE , "Aba INITE, viv Jeral, Ba nou Gérald Mathurin poun ale". Supporters of the Platform presidential INITE, dressed with printed shirts have caused the protesters, shouting in their turn, "Joseph Lambert Cocaine".

Officers of the Departmental Unit for Law Enforcement (Unité Départementale de Maintien de l’Ordre UDMO), were apprehended in front of the public prosecutor's department of Jacmel, an INITE supporter in possession of a bladed weapon, which was assaulting supporters of Gerald Mathurin. They have described the arrest of fantasy "The individuals will not be placed in custody because he is a supporter of INITE" they deplored.

The agronomist Gerald Mathurin, accompanied by his lawyer, Maître Aviola Fleuren, of the Bar of Port-au-Prince had to wait nearly four hours the arrival of Senator Lambert, who never came. The case was referred to the eighth. Leaving the public prosecutor's department of Jacmel, the protesters have won the city streets, destroying small and giant posters of presidential candidate Jude Celestin.

As said one of the demonstrators, one does not arrest members of INITE.
