The IDB has its Garden of plants in Bourdon
To celebrate International Forest Day, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will, on March 14, 2017, will inaugurate its new garden of native plants and its interpretation trail in its spaces in Bourdon. Recognizing the value of the biodiversity of Haiti, as well as the pressures exerted on it, the IDB, with the help of the Botanical Garden of Les Cayes , transformed the land of about 1,000 m2 where its offices are in a Garden of native plants, to create a natural habitat for birds and butterflies, which were once so abundant in the region and showcase the unique flora of Haiti.
Only 8.95% of women in PNH
As part of the activities of International Women's Day, police women from the Haitian National Police (PNH) of the Office of the National Coordination of Women's Affairs (CNAF) of the PNH and the UNPol Police Component of the Minustah have mobilized for a march of awareness. As a reminder, the female population of the PNH is only 8.95%, for a Haitian population composed to 52% of women.
