This week at a press conference, Pelegrin Castillo Vice President of the National Progressive Force (FNP), center-right opposition minority party (6th choice of Dominican voters in the last elections), known for his radical nationalist positions on immigration and sovereignty, said that the Dominican people should unite and peacefully mobilize to remind the world, that the solution to Haitian problems is in Haiti and that the Dominican Republic, if it can be an ally, will never serve as "pivot" to solve these problems.

"We must mobilize, because this apparent mobilization of human rights protection agencies, can not come here in reaction, whenever there is a crisis in the neighboring country," affirming that the project of construction of a wall along the border with Haiti will send a signal to the world that Dominicans can not take over the situation of Haitians.

In addition, Pelegrín Castillo, recalled that since 2 weeks the FNP via the groups of the movement "Polo Soberano" launched in January 2016 by the FNP and intended to motivate the Dominicans to defend the national sovereignty, began in the Great Santo-Domingo to collect the signatures of citizens concerned about the peaceful and progressive occupation of the national territory by Haitians.

Since 2014, the FNP has been working on setting up the national structure needed to collect more than 300,000 signatures throughout the Dominican Republic.
