Haiti - Security : Border wall project - studied in a Dominican Commission 11/06/2014 13:38:38 The Deputy Vastillo warned his colleagues that the naturalization law and regulation of aliens "will become a boomerang for the country, if the plan is implemented without setting a strict policy of border control." However, the Chamber of Deputies refused to include in emergency session this project to its agenda of Monday as requested by Vinicio Castillo and returned to Tuesday this project for discussion. Tuesday two initiatives that propose to build a wall delimiting the border between the Dominican Republic and Haiti, have been the subject of debate and exchange of views, to the Chamber of Deputies, who finally decided to send for study in Commission the project of Deputy Vinicio. Reacting to this project, Admiral Sigfrido Pared Pérez, Dominican Defense Minister assured that no military did not reject the proposal of construction of the wall "because it would facilitate the monitoring of the movement of people seeking to enter illegally in the country." However, the Minister that approves the proposal of Deputy Castllio has some reservations "Building a wall all along the border is a bit utopian," he suggests rather that this wall be built in places where it is more difficult to control the illegal immigration and to deploy military forces "recalling that whatever his opinion, negative or positive, "it is a decision that will be taken to Congress and we will be forced to respect it [because of the separation of powers]."
