Following the appointment by presidential decree of Fritz William Michel, as new Prime Minister https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28308-haiti-flash-jovenel-moise-appoints-his-4th-prime-minister.html replacing the resigning Prime Minister Jean-Michel Lapin, the President of the Republic Jovenel Moïse reacting to the various reactions of the elected representatives of the opposition, who followed this nomination https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28338-haiti-politic-some-reactions-on-the-new-ministerial-cabinet.html wanted to clarify :
"I have appointed Fritz William Michel, Prime Minister Mr. Michel is a brilliant civil servant who has devoted his entire career to serving the people of Haiti. I made this choice together with the presidents of the two branches of Parliament to put an end to the political paralysis that harms the citizens of our country.
It is time for the Parliament to approve the Government so that together we can meet the urgent needs of our society, in terms of food security, job creation, infrastructure, etc...

The approval of the Prime Minister's General Policy by the Parliament will unblock the budget, as well as the millions of dollars of international financing that will come to support the Haitian people.
