Saturday in Montreal at the Bell Centre in front of over 20,000 spectators, the former heavyweight champion of the world (19 June 2009 to 21 May 2011) of the WBC (World Boxing Council), Jean Pascal, Québécois of Haitian origin (born October 28, 1982 in Port-au-Prince) won at the end of the 12th round, the victory against Lucian Bute, Romanian-born Québécois by unanimous decision of judges (117-110, 117-111, 116-112).

With the exception of the 12th round in which Jean Pascal was several times was pushed into the ropes, the former world champion undoubtedly dominated the fight before a Lucian Bute, who has been hesitant and unable to counter the powerful attacks of his opponents.

By winning the belts "Diamond" of WBC and NABF (North American Boxing Federation), Jean Pascal becomes the "mandatory challenger" of the World champion heavyweight, the Québécois Adonis Stevenson, also of Haitian origin (born September 22, 1977 in Port-au-Prince).
