Haiti - Economy : The Minister Laleau accompanied a mission of Coutard Motors in Cuba

Sunday, Wilson Laleau, acting Minister of Commerce and Industry, accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Hugues Joseph, met in Havana, Salvador Pardo Cruz Cuban Minister of Industries. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the accompaniment of a delegation of 4 young of the Company Coutard Motors, the company that made ​​the first bus "Made in Haiti" prototype designed by Jean-Paul Coutard, a young Haitian 30 years, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-9284-haiti-economy-presentation-of-the-first-bus-prototype-made-in-haiti.html Their presence is part of a training mission and discovery of Cuban automotive industry, in particular production systems and bus assembly. These young people are accompanied by Ancener Petit-Bois, President of the Professional Association of Artisans Tap-tap buses Haitians (APATAH).

The two ministers particularly explored opportunities for collaboration in the automotive sector in Haiti (assembly of bus, repair workshop of heavy equipment, tire manufacturing) and in the development of projects of industrial micro-farms (agro-industry, textile, mechanical and biotechnology). They estimated the utmost urgency, the establishment of cooperation mechanisms and planned signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in the month of February, as well as the arrival of a Cuban technical mission in Haiti

Recall that the presence of young of Coutard Motors, is the answer to the promise of the Minister, of 22 August, during the official presentation of the first Haitian bus where he declared ""The Ministry of Commerce and Industry will make available to him a land, in order that he launch, in cooperation with the Haitian government, the first Haitian micro park dedicated. The Ministry will also allow him to participate in additional training abroad and attend the bus manufacturing. We support him in the search of partnerships for th verification and certification of the bus."

Before returning to the country the Minister Laleau thanked his Cuban counterpart for its hospitality and the usual generosity of the Republic of Cuba to Haiti. The young of Coutard Motors continue their internship in Group Automotive Construction until Friday, January 24, 2014, the date of their return to Haiti.
