Haiti - Politic : Laurent Lamothe met with the founder of Dell, in Davos
On Thursday, Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, within the framework of its participation 44th World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland), met with the multi-billionaire Michael Dell, founder of the multinational company Dell Computer.
This meeting is part of the vision of the Prime Minister, to attract private investment in Haiti, to create as many jobs as possible, but also to use new technologies in the reform of the state.
The two men discussed the need to establish a partnership between the Haitian government and the Dell company, to strengthen the program of E-governance implemented by the Martelly administration. They also agreed to make of the technology the spearhead policyof the modernization of public administration, to ensure greater transparency in the management of state affairs, a key priority of the President of the Republic.
The meeting also aimed to improve the quality of education in Haiti, and enable young people to have more access to the information technology and communications. In this regard, Michael Dell agreed to establish several computer labs in different parts of Haiti for the benefit of schoolchildren and students.
