Haiti - Politic : Inaugurations and announcements of the Prime Minister in Île-à-Vache 25/02/2014 08:55:05
The Head of Government, who was at the listening to the people during this tour, gave the assurance that his Government would implement major projects to create thousands of jobs on the island, an announcement warmly welcomed in the localities of "Kay Kòk" and Madame Bernard. This visit was the occasion to announce plans to build hotels, roads, development of various tourist areas and the installation of hundreds of solar street lights, in order to stimulate economic activities in the region and the creation of sustainable jobs in support of the programs against extreme poverty and food insecurity. Moreover, in order to help the fishing industry, he announced that the Government will put 17 Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) [ https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-9338-haiti-agriculture-modernization-of-artisanal-fisheries.html ], at the service of the commune.  During his tour on the island, Laurent Lamothe has proceeded to the inauguration of a community restaurant in "Kay Kòk" and a community center with a library, a conference room and a playground. He also proceeded to the official opening of the community radio "Voile FM". For her part, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin presented to the population the special plan for Île-à-Vache which includes among others, the construction of a road through the Island, East to West, a storage center for solid waste, a public square and a professional training center.
