Haiti - Social : Woman of Courage Haiti 2014, awarded to the militant Colette Lespinasse

Friday at the U.S. Embassy (Tabarre 41), as part of the commemoration of the month of Women's History, will take place a ceremony to honor the Woman of Courage Haiti 2014.
The Award Woman of Courage Haiti 2014, will be awarded this year to the activist Colette Lespinasse, former Coordinator for 14 years of the Support Group for Returnees and Refugees (GARR), an inter-institutional platform that works on issues related to Haitian migration, for his role in the struggle for the rights of Haitians in the Dominican Republic and for his active participation in the socio-political life of Haiti. Recall that Colette Lespinasse passed the baton to this position, on December 20, to Jean Baptiste Azolin.
Through its "International Women of Courage" program, the U.S. State Department recognized at an international level, the initiatives and actions undertaken by women around the world who play a big role in shaping the course of history of their society.
Colette Lespinasse dedicate this award to all activists who have worked with her in this fight, as well as feminist organizations, working for the rights of women.
