Haiti - Economy : Lamothe named co-chair of PACEGI (UPDATE 12:36) 21/03/2014 11:34:46
Note that Laurent Lamothe, who will share this co-Chairmanship with former U.S. President Bill Clinton, had already held this position for a year, during the creation of PACEGI in 2011. "I am truly grateful to His Excellency President Martelly and my fellow Co-Chair, Former President Clinton, for their continued trust and support as I come back to the Council. This Haitian Investment Promotion Commission is a unique nation - building tool, in no small part thanks to the collective stewardship the council members bring to the table. Haiti is grateful, as I am, that so many distinguished global leaders have decided to commit their time and expertise to helping the Nation of Haiti as it embarks on this journey towards economic emancipation. Thanks to their friendship and commitment Haiti can finally emerge as the only 'frontier economy' in the Americas," says Prime Minister Lamothe on the day of his installation "I look forward to working alongside Prime Minister Lamothe to continue to attrac t investment to Haiti, and to chart a path forward that ensures sustainable, long - term economic prosperity for the country," said President Clinton. Recall that the PACEGI consists in put together high-level personalities from around the world to attract investors from outside, around a common interest, the prosperity of Haiti. The Council has 33 members, whose among other 8 former Heads of State, 5 international business leaders and Nobel Prize and International Economic Development Expert, Muhammad Yunus.
