Haiti - Politic : The Secretary of State for Planning, Michel Présumé takes office

On Thursday, Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, also Minister of Planning and External Cooperation (MPCE), proceeded in the presence of Senator Wencesclas Lambert and senior officials of the Ministry, to the installation of the Secretary of State for Planning Michel Présumé. In his remarks of circumstances, Laurent Lamothe stressed the integrity of the new Secretary of State for Planning, while urging employees of the institution to work as a team to have convincing results "The President of the Republic and I have made choice of Mr. Michel Présumé for his honesty, patriotism and dedication. MPCE is one of the most important ministries of the country. It coordinates all major projects that are across the country, we must work together to achieve their realization," recalling that "190 community projects have been identified and funded in the last year and already for this year, the funding request approximates almost 200 projects [...] We rely on your expertise and experience to carry out these projects." For his part, Michel Présumé thanked the President Martelly and Prime Minister for their trust promised to work tirelessly with the cabinet and all employees of the Ministry for its proper operation declared "[...] I assure you that I will do my best to help you achieve the goals that the MPCE is set [...] We can do whatever we want, if the result is not there, I assure you that we will have do nothing," adding that it will be the first to resign if he does not give the expected results during his tenure.
