Haiti - Technology : Forum of National Centre for Geo-Spatial Information
From June 23 to 26 will be held at the Hotel Karibe the Forum of National Centre for Geo-Spatial Information (CNIGS), this Forum marks the end of the Programme of Territorial Information for Sustainable Development (PITDD) (started in 2006) co-funded by the Government of Haiti and the European Union. It aims to disseminate the results of PITDD and will focus on how geospatial technologies can extend our ability to intelligently exploit spatial data and give our leaders a competitive advantage in the era of "smart" in order to overcome the complexity of the challenges the country faces.

Revolving around the theme "Haiti Geo-Governance: Managing our space, control the future", the Forum will focus on the different innovative systems and of integration, supported by geospatial technologies allowing more efficient use of resources, a more organized infrastructure development.

With the technological advances, the world is becoming "intelligently interconnected." These interconnections provide many new opportunities for the world, for all companies, institutions and individuals. Forward-thinking leaders in business, governments and civil societies around the world grasp the potential of these systems to achieve economic growth, short-term efficiency, sustainable development and social progress.

The opening ceremony will be chaired by Marie Carmelle Rose-Anne Auguste, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, in charge of Human Rights and the Fight Against Extreme Poverty. Various personality will intervene at the forum include: Laurent Lamothe, Prime Minister and Minister of Planning, Boby Emmanuel Piard, Director General of CNIGS, Thomas Jacques, Minister of Agriculture, Jacques Rousseau, Minister of Public Works, Jean Edner Nelwon, Ambassador of the Delegation of the European Union.
