The Government of the Republic denounces and strongly condemns the brutal assaultof the Minister Phélito Doran, which took place today in full session, at the Chamber of Deputies, by the deputy Arnel Bélizaire.

The Government denounces at the same time the death threats by the elected Delmas/Tabarre against the Minister Doran.

The Government wishes to remind that the deputy Bélizaire is arepeat offender who repeatedly had behavior contrary to the dignity of a parliamentarian systematically violating the laws of the Republic. A few examples :

1 - Aggression to the Post Office;

2 - Forcing through a barrage of Customs;

3 - Action with weapons of a Commando for escape justice an accused in the Public prosecutor's office of the First Instance;

4 - Use of war weapons in street protests;

5 - Action armed at the National Pension Insurance Office (ONA).

The Government also would like to stress that the immunity does not cover common law offenses committed by a parliamentarian. Immunity does not mean impunity. That is why the Government of the Republic requests the Chamber of Deputies to consider, in urgency, on the requests for waiver of immunity produced by the justice to the Chamber of Deputies.
