Haiti - Justice : End of Seminar on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights
The two-day seminar on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, held at Club Indigo in Montrouis by the Interministerial Committee for Human Rights (CIDP) with the participation of Gustavo Gallón, the UN Independent Expert on the situation of human rights in Haiti, in monitoring mission in the country since July 15, ended last Friday.

This seminar took place within the framework of the mission of the CIDP, which is to ensure the cohesion of government interventions for the progressive reduction of poverty and exclusion, to strengthen and optimize existing systems and mechanisms of coordination of activities related to human rights within government.

During the seminar, members of the CIDP had the opportunity to share with Gustavo Gallón, actions carried out during the last six months by their respective institutions. This allowed the independent expert, to be better informed on the activities of some public institutions such as the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour (MAST), the National Identification Office (ONI), the Assistance Fund Economic and Social (FAES), the National Geo-Spatial Information Centre (CNIGS), the National Observatory on Poverty and Social Exclusion (ONPES), etc... all represented within the CIDP.

Besides the exchange with the Independent Expert, the members of CIDP had a working session on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (DESC) led by the former Minister of Justice, Jean Joseph Exumé and lawyer Patrick Camille working on the project "Aksyon Kolektif pou Sekirite kont Esplwatasyon" (AKSE) driven by the Future's Group firm.
