Haiti - Education : Literacy, meeting with servants of Lakou
Saturday, as part of the national campaign that aims to literate in Haiti, 450,000 people over a period of 24 months, the Joint Steering Committee of the National Literacy Campaign met respectively the Servants of Lakou : Badjo, Soukri and Souvenance.

Marie Carmelle Rose Anne Auguste, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, in charge of Human Rights and the Fight Against Extreme Poverty and a representative of the National Economic and Social Fund (FAES) and representatives of the three lakous participated in these planning meetings.

For the Minister Auguste, the literacy campaign is in no case exclusive or discriminatory, it must affect people of all faiths and all political affiliations and voodoo priests, true leader of their community are part of the Committee's strategy.



The Servants of the 3 lakous, said they were honored by such an initiative and have committed themselves to encourage their brothers and sisters to take the path of literacy classes, in order to strengthen the capacity of the sector voodoo in Haiti.

The Joint Steering Committee plans to meet soon pastors and Catholic priests of the commune of Gonaïves, in order to consolidate the activities of the Committee, which plans to build dozens of literacy classes in all communal sections of this jurisdiction, after the screening phase.
